ONLINE WORKSHOP: COMMUNICATION SKILLS FOR YOUR JOB SEARCH
organised by the Brussels Childbirth Trust (BCT)
Saturday 30 January 2020, 14.00 - 17.00 ( with pauses)
Finding a job in times of economic crisis has always been challenging. But never before have job seekers been so isolated and out of touch with potential employers. When all communication is moved online and when competition is fierce, a new mentality is needed.
This 3-hour training helps job seekers move past the mindset of “getting a job” to focusing on the process and how to improve communication skills. By the end of this training, participants will have practical techniques to engage employers and re-energize their job search. This new skill set will boost confidence in what they can achieve during their job search.
The four topics covered in this workshop are:
- Mentality change - Learn how to think like a freelance consultant
- Your CV as your main marketing tool - learn the key tips so that your CV gets noticed
- Your Network -How to use it effectively even when you don’t meet people face to face
- The Interview- Learn the secrets of “active interviewing” and how to avoid common traps
The workshop is fast-paced and interactive. You will get an opportunity to practise in small groups throughout the workshop. Please be prepared to engage and have your cameras on.
Pre-work: Job seekers should define exactly the kind of positions they are looking for (job titles, type and size of organisation + sector) and prepare a short pitch on why they are the best person for that type of position. We will send attendees a short list of questions to think about beforehand and be prepared to discuss.
Cost: 25€ for the 3-hour workshop (via bank transfer or PayPal before the course)
